Job Opening - Bookkeeper

Summary: Performs accounting and bookkeeping procedures and assists the Direct of Finance with a variety of tasks to carry out the mission of Maple City Health Care Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Accounting and Bookkeeping (Using QuickBooks): (1)Process daily transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments, (2) process payroll and related withholdings, (3) process reports, payments, and tax forms for federal and state agencies, and (4) process invoices for accounts payable.

  2. Assisting with Employee Benefits: (1)Manage Employee Health Insurance enrollments and changes and Nest Egg reimbursements, (2) process other staff benefits such, Retirement, Dental, Child Care, and Flexible Spending Account, etc. and (3) maintain appropriate employee records and confidentiality

  3. Miscellaneous Tasks: (1) record contributions received, (2) maintain files for personnel and financial records, and (3) accomplish other tasks as directed by Director of Finance

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Bookkeeping / Accounting experience required. • College degree preferred. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Strong computer skills including work with spread sheets and data management. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Self-motivated, critical thinker. • Spanish language proficiency an asset. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Hours, Salary Range and Benefits

• Work hours: 30-40 hours a week • Salary as per the employee wage policy • A generous employee benefit package
