Paying for Your Health Care
-
Pay everything you owe every time you visit.
- Pay with cash or check (no credit cards). If the bank returns your check to us, we must charge you $10 for the extra time it takes.
- If you have insurance, we will wait to see what your insurance pays. After we find out what your insurance pays, we will send you a bill for whatever your insurance didn't pay.
- Please pay your bill quickly (no later than 30 days).
- If you have trouble paying your bill, talk with Maria or Becky. We will work with you to set up a payment plan and try to find other ways to help you.

The Doctor Gets a Shot
Lois is a patient in her forties. She doesn’t mince words, uses language you wouldn’t call “polite,” sometimes expects special treatment, and always calls me “Honey.” She has a number of chronic conditions, and we see quite a bit of her at the health care center.

FAQs
-
How do sliding fees work?
We inform each patient about the sliding fee program. Patients may apply for sliding fees by providing an indication of their income. We review a patient's income annually.
-
What are sliding fees?
Our mission is to build a health community by providing affordable high quality health care. Sliding fees adjust the cost of health care to a patient's income (ability to pay). Patients pay anywhere from 100% to 10% of the cost of their health care. Patients who cannot afford to pay even 10% of the cost of their health care may volunteer for community-building organizations in exchange for health care (see the More Than Money program).
